Dry lips are what everyone dreads more so when the mercury comes down.

While commercial lip balms may throw all sorts of claims with flowery descriptions, let’s face it – Not a great many of them live up to their claims.

With organic (or All Natural) skincare brands cropping up, there isn’t much respite either.

Why?

Because in the name of organic, some brands resort to blatant over-charging.

Why not concoct your own lip balm then?

The following DIY coffee lip balm is not only for women but also for men just like the previous ones I made.

Lip Balm For Dry Lips: Step By Step Guide

Step 1 – Mix 2 tbsp. of jojoba oil and a tbsp. of Robusta Arabica coffee in a bowl. The more days it is steeped for, the better. One week is good to go.

Step 2 – After one week, sieve the coffee grains from the oil.

This oil that you now have is called “Coffee-infused oil”.

Step 3 – In a steel bowl, add Cacao butter, Beeswax and Coffee-infused jojoba oil. Make a double-boiler system like I did HERE.

Step 4 – Let everything in the bowl melt completely.

Keep the stove on low flame.

Step 5 – Once everything has melted, transfer it quickly to your lip balm tub, pot or container.

Step 6 – Wait for 5 mins. It will solidify itself because of beeswax.

Tadaa, your nourishing organic coffee lip balm is ready!

Dry lips? Hasta La Vista.

How Should I Use This Lip Balm For My Dry Lips?

Scrub your lips gently. HERE is a recipe for a homemade lip scrub.

Ideally, you should scrub your lips once in every 4 days for 2 mins. Then, apply the lip balm lavishly on your dry lips.

It is colourless. So, do not worry that you may resemble someone who has been treated to FREE coffee!

Men, you got the drift – You can use it. It leaves no stain or colour on lips.

PRO TIP: Whenever your lips feel excessively dry, do not lick them.

Gulp down a glass of water. Your lips may have turned overly dry because of inadequate moisture.

After drinking a glass of water, apply your coffee lip balm.

Because this organic lip balm has no artificial fillers or chemical preservatives added, you can apply it as often as you wish.

15 minutes and your lips are sorted.

    1. So far, this lip balm is the best smelling one I’ve made. Even those with floral aromas (made one using jasmine essential oil) didn’t come close.

I’ll make coffee infused oil soon. It’s great for under eye bags, puffiness and dark circles.

But before that, green tea infusion about which you told me.
