From her

One thing is sure-shot – My mother’s organic skincare recipes have stood the test of time.

But what about her under eye cream, body butter or face cream?

What’s the best anti-aging cream that she uses?

Hold on!

Didn’t I tell you that she is a minimalist?

What’s the last thing you should expect from her?

A cave full of makeup, cosmetics or even organic skincare products.

I am guilty as charged for the last one.

The best anti-aging cream that she relies upon is homemade & handmade.

Here’s the recipe. Grab a notepad.

Best Anti-Aging Cream: Ingredients

  1. Shea butter (50 g) – Buy here
  2. Jojoba oil (20 ml) – Buy here
  3. Lavender Essential Oil (25 drops) – Buy here

Best Anti-Aging Cream: Procedure

Step 1 – In a double boiler (don’t know what it is? See this) add your Shea butter and Jojoba oil.

On low flame, heat everything till the mixture is completely liquefied.

Step 2 – Once liquefied, transfer your jar to a fridge (not freezer). Store for 15 mins.

Step 3 – Take out your jar.

Whip using an electronic blender (Buy here) for 5 mins till the mixture is fluffy. Pour your lavender essential oil finally.

Frankly speaking, hand blenders are terrible. They simple waste time and energy.

Voila, your best anti-aging cream is ready. Indulge.

How Does Mom Use This Cream?

She uses an Ubtan daily be it homemade or readymade. Sunni Pindi (Buy here) by the way, is her go-to Ubtan.

Like daughter like mother – Just modified an old adage.

After rinsing off the Ubtan, she lets her skin dry naturally till it is damp.

Lastly, she massages this best anti-aging cream for a good 5 mins.

Strokes matter. So does the direction.

That means… No aggression. No tugging and definitely no slapping.

That’s all. Sleep like a baby.

Because she prefers Ubtans over soaps!

Now I get where do most of my skincare habits stem from.

She massages this cream-cum-body butter after bathing with Tarika Herbomineral (Buy here) – a herbal bath powder that clicked with me too.

Seriously that much effort?

Yes, she’s worked out her daily schedule deftly to incorporate real ingredients in her skincare routine.

Now, that you know one more skincare secret (aka this best anti-aging cream) of hers…

When are you going to include it in your routine?

  1. Jojoba oil has a lot of therapeutic benefits. My grandmother never runs out of jojoba oil. Mixed with lavender, It would have a pleasing aroma. I am certain that skin products containing Jojoba is going to do a great job for any type of skin.

    1. Yes, Jojoba + lavender oil combo spells relaxation from the word go.

I dislike the aroma of most essential oils but lavender is one of those few which makes the cut for me 🙂

  2. I think the use of essential oils can not only be relaxing but also healing to the skin. My skin has been so dry and cracked out here in the winter and I have been trying to find ways to revitalize it. I’ll have to consider some of your mom’s routine so that I can start seeing healthy skin again.

    1. What I like the most about essential oils is how they ‘glam up’ if I can use that phrase, a seemingly run of the mill DIY, Sam.

Just a few drops and wham, the most common complaint of homemade stuff being bland disappears. Mom btw has a bag of more DIYs. I’ll put them up with time here. Stick around!

    2. The best part about winters is how I can drown myself uninhibitedly in butters, Sam.

During summers, that is one major obstacle. I however rely on herbal bath powders for cleansing my skin so, unnatural dryness hardly ever arises.

Add to that, occasionally I do use butters on my face and neck when dryness reaches a newfound high.

  3. Hi Nidhal,
Firstly Ur mom looks lovely…she just doesn’t look like someone with a grown up daughter!!
I’m definitely going to try this cream…need it for my winter dry skin…just wanted to know if it’s okay to use with my oily/combination skin and acne type…also is it okay to use in summer n humid weather…
Thanks alot n keep up the amazing work!

    1. Every time she gets such comments Del, I kid you not her resolve to introduce me as her adopted kid strengthens 😂

I anyway look way too dissimilar to her and add to that, I’m 23 so the prospect openly disowning me appears quite rosy to her. All that aside, thank you from her side!

Coming back to your questions –
      1) Yes, this cream will work in winters. I haven’t added Cocoa butter, coconut oil or any skin clogging comedogenic ingredient.

I suggest you use an Ubtan first. Then apply this cream as a moisturiser so that all the dirt gets sucked out and then its goodness penetrates inside.

      2) For summers, I find it heavy for oily skin, Del. Mine is dry but still given Delhi’s pollution and the possibility of what not going inside my skin when I venture out, I avoid using it. Of course at night, I do but in the morning it’s a no-no.

  4. Your command on English is awesome. And what I said above in my previous message is from my heart. I don’t think I would be that giving where beauty secrets are concerned coz I love beauty secrets and tips.😁
Well, can’t wait for more from you.

    Love, Vinaya ❤️😘

    1. Trust me on this. I am not saying this to appear modest or humble but I genuinely would rate myself average as a writer even on my best days. A lot more polishing is needed (which I am ready. Not wait, excited for)

Coming to beauty secrets, I need to flatter some more relatives of mine to agree to revealing just some of their tricks 😁 How opportunistic of me!

  5. Isn’t it very selfless of you to share this amazing beauty secrets with the public. Thanks a lot girl for this blog. Keep going!!
    Love from Vinaya.

    1. Thrilled. Ecstatic. Touched.

Vinaya, as much as I want to climb on top of my bed and dance like a maniac, I am humbled by your words!

I started Glamorganicdesi on a whim and feel so ‘lost for words’ when I see it getting such a response.

And as far as my mother’s beauty secrets are concerned, she laughs it off whenever I let it out that I’ll be revealing some of her tips and tricks on the blog.

Perhaps, behind that laughter are disguised truckloads of more hidden beauty nuggets that I’m unaware of 😁
